Yellowstone National Park

To tour Yellowstone my original plan was to spend two weeks outside Yellowstone north gate in Gardiner, MT and two weeks outside Yellowstone west gate, in West Yellowstone, MT once we knew the dates we would be in the area, but I couldn’t get reservations at the RV parks at the time frame we wanted, so we revised our plans and stayed the entire time fifteen miles outside Yellowstone’s west gate in Island Park, ID at Valley View RV Park. which worked out very well! In fact so well we decided it was too hot to head south any sooner, so we ended up staying six and one half weeks, instead of a month. We really liked the area…we didn’t need to use our AC the entire time, we had beautiful valley and mountain views, the Wi-Fi worked reasonably well, we were a reasonable distance to Yellowstone National Park, but not too close to have to pay the very high resort area RV rates, but grocery shopping was challenging and expensive. While in Island Park, ID, we made several day trips into Yellowstone and a day trip to the old mining towns, Virginia City and Nevada City, MT and the rest of the time just chilled and played lots of World of Warcraft. 🙂
